With Craig T. Williams

WRITE THE DAMN THING.

Your TV Pilot or Feature Film Starts Here.

You've been talking about that script long enough. It's time to write it.

You've got an idea. Maybe you've been carrying it around for years. Maybe you've started writing it a dozen times. Or maybe you have no idea where to begin.

That's what this class is for.

Over eight weeks, we're going to take your idea, develop your characters, build your story, and get you writing actual screenplay pages.

Not just talking about writing. Writing.

This is a writing class.
So we're going to write.

I've taught enough workshops to know that writers don't need another person telling them how difficult screenwriting is.

They need to understand how stories work. They need to make choices, put those choices on the page, and have somebody help them figure out what's working and what isn't.

That's what we're going to do.

We'll start with your idea. We'll talk about character, relationships, structure, and conflict. We'll figure out what your story is really about.

Then we're going to get into the scenes.

You'll write between classes, share your work, get feedback, and keep moving forward.

Eight weeks. Twenty-four hours together. A small group of writers doing the work.

Who is this class for?

This class is for you if you've got a story you want to tell but haven't figured out how to tell it yet.

Maybe you've never written a screenplay. Maybe you've written a few, but you keep getting stuck. Maybe you have an idea you're excited about and need some structure, feedback, and accountability.

You don't need a finished outline. You don't need to have all the answers.

You do need to be willing to write.

And because we're keeping the group to 8–12 writers, there will be room for your work, your questions, and your story.

The 8-Week Curriculum

From the idea in your head to the pages on your screen.

Week 1 · JANUARY 6, 2027

The Idea

Finding the story worth telling.

What's the difference between an idea and a story? Where does your idea come from, why does it matter, and is it a film or a television series? We'll find the story you want to spend the next eight weeks writing.

Week 2 · JANUARY 13, 2027

Character and Relationships

Building characters that feel real.

What does your protagonist want? What do they need? Who's standing in their way? We'll explore the contradictions, relationships, and conflicts that make characters worth watching.

Week 3 · JANUARY 20, 2027

Outlining

Building the blueprint for your story.

Beginning. Middle. End. We'll identify your major story beats, turning points, and the choices that move your story forward. Structure is a tool, not a prison.

Week 4 · JANUARY 27, 2027

Anatomy of a Scene

Making every scene matter.

What makes a scene work? We'll explore objectives, obstacles, conflict, tension, and subtext. And we'll look at what happens when a scene isn't doing its job.

Week 5 · FEBRUARY 3, 2027

Act One

Give us a reason to keep watching.

Introduce your characters, establish the world, and set the story in motion. We'll move from talking about your screenplay to writing the actual pages.

Week 6 · FEBRUARY 10, 2027

Act Two

Now make things difficult.

Your character wants something. Don't make it easy for them. We'll explore complications, reversals, escalating stakes, and how to keep your story moving when you hit the middle.

Week 7 · FEBRUARY 17, 2027

Act Three

Make the ending count.

How does your story pay off what you've set up? For feature writers, we'll focus on bringing the dramatic journey to a satisfying conclusion. For television writers, we'll explore how the pilot's ending launches the series.

Week 8 · FEBRUARY 24, 2027

Next Steps

Keep writing the damn thing.

We'll review what you've developed, identify what's working, tackle what's not, and create a practical plan for finishing your screenplay. The class ends. The writing doesn't.

What will you have at the end of eight weeks?

You're not going to walk away with a bunch of notes about how to write a screenplay.

You're going to have work you've actually done.

  • A developed story concept
  • Characters with clear wants, needs, and relationships
  • An outline that gives your story direction
  • An understanding of how to construct effective scenes
  • Screenplay pages you've written and received feedback on
  • A plan for completing your first draft

Will you have a finished screenplay in eight weeks? Maybe. That depends on how much work you put in outside of class. But you'll have a stronger foundation, actual pages, and a clear direction for what comes next.

Who's teaching?

Craig T. Williams

Screenwriter. Producer. Mentor.

I'm a working screenwriter and producer. I've developed projects, worked in television writers' rooms, produced independent films, and spent years helping other writers figure out their stories.

I'm an alumnus of the Warner Bros. Discovery Access Writers Program, a former staff writer on Terror Lake Drive, and was named a Gotham Series Creator to Watch in 2024.

I've learned a lot from the scripts I've written, the scripts I've rewritten, and the scripts that didn't work the first time.

And here's something I know: You can read every screenwriting book ever published. At some point, you have to sit down and write.

Ready to write the damn thing?

We're keeping this first class small. Just 8–12 writers.

Eight Wednesday evenings. Three hours each week. Real writing, real feedback, and a group of people committed to moving their stories forward.

If you've been waiting for the right time to start, this is it.
