WRITE WITH CRAIG PRESENTS
Script
Salon
A free monthly gathering for screenwriters, actors, and anyone curious about how stories work on the page.
Each gathering focuses on one practical screenwriting topic. Craig leads a craft conversation, writers bring their questions and pages, and actors perform selected work live so everyone can hear how the words play off the page.
You do not need to be a Soho House member or have attended before. Script Salon takes place at Ludlow House in New York City and is free to attend. Non-members must sign up through Craig to be added to the guest list.

ABFF MASTERCLASS ONLINE SERIES
Film or TV:
The Right Fit
You've got an idea you love. Great. Now comes a question writers don't always ask soon enough: Is this actually a movie or is it a TV show?
In this webinar, screenwriter and producer Craig T. Williams will break down how to find the right home for your story. Because having enough material for 100 pages doesn't automatically make something a movie, and having a great pilot idea doesn't mean you have a television series.
Using examples from contemporary film and television, we'll look at what each form needs, why some stories are built to end while others are built to keep going, and how character, world, and story can help you figure out what you're actually writing.
Topics include:
- Why are we meeting this character right now?
- What makes a story work as a film?
- What makes an idea capable of sustaining a TV series?
- What is the series engine, and do you actually have one?
- The Episode Two Test: after your great pilot, what happens next?
- Film, TV, or limited series: finding the right fit
You'll leave with a clearer way to look at your own idea and answer one of the most important questions before you spend months writing it:
Where does this story belong?

The Art of the Short Film
New to Script Salon? You are welcome here. It is a free monthly gathering where writers learn, ask questions, and hear selected pages performed live by actors.
Sign Up for Script Salon ↗I love short films. They are not simply smaller versions of feature films. They are an art form unto themselves.
I've written, produced, and consulted on more than 30 short films. I've judged contests, read stacks of short scripts, and watched more short films than I can count. Along the way, I've learned what makes a short feel complete, cinematic, and unforgettable.
In this Script Salon, I'll share what I've learned and explore how to build a compelling character, create meaningful stakes, and reach a powerful ending when every page has to earn its place.
We'll talk about:
- Finding the right idea for a short
- Creating a complete emotional journey in limited time
- Starting late, ending early, and cutting what the story does not need
- Writing visually and making every page count
- Building an ending that lands
Whether you are writing your first short or revising one that is not quite working yet, bring your questions and your curiosity.
Live script readings
Submissions open November 1. I will accept three short scripts to be read and workshopped live at the Salon.
- 10 pages maximum
- Scripts must be properly formatted in screenwriting software
- No stage-play formatting
As always, actors will read the selected pages and bring the writers' words to life.
Because short doesn't mean small. It means every moment matters.
Non-members are welcome, but must sign up through Craig to be added to the Ludlow House guest list.

Pitching: Tell Us Why Your Story Matters
Special Guest: Writer/Producer Daryl Spivey
While spearheading development at Al Roker Entertainment, Daryl heard hundreds of pitches during his four years there. He brings a seasoned development perspective on what makes a pitch clear, compelling, and memorable.
A strong pitch is not about memorizing the perfect speech. It is about helping someone see the story the way you see it. In this interactive Study Hall, we will work on finding the clearest, most compelling version of your idea: the hook, the character, the stakes, the tone, and why this story needs to be told now.
Whether you are preparing for a meeting, a fellowship, a pitch event, or simply trying to explain your project without getting lost in the weeds, bring your idea. We will practice talking about it with clarity, confidence, and your own voice.

One-on-One Private Consultation Program
Build your feature, TV pilot, or Short from concept to final page.
Groups and classes are not for everyone.
Maybe they do not fit into your schedule. Maybe you cannot meet every week. Maybe you need more privacy, more flexibility, or a process built around the way you actually write. This one-on-one program is for writers who need focused support, honest feedback, and a structure that honors both their creative voice and their real life.
Over six private consultation sessions, we will take your project from the spark of an idea toward a completed draft. Together, we will shape the concept, strengthen the structure, deepen the characters, and break the writing into manageable milestones so you can keep moving without getting overwhelmed.
This is not about forcing your story into a formula. It is about protecting what makes your voice distinct while giving you the accountability, deadlines, and practical guidance you need to finish.
This program helps you:
- Turn a strong idea into a finished script
- Build a consistent writing rhythm
- Strengthen structure, character, and story
- Receive honest, practical creative feedback
- Protect your individual voice

From the Mentees
Meaningful storytelling requires real collaboration, not generic feedback.
Frequently Asked Questions.
Do you give written notes?
Written notes are boring and lay flat. Your script deserves the personal attention of a one on one conversation.
What will I leave with after our session?
Clear, actionable notes that will inspire you to complete your next draft.
How do you know how to fix my script?
25 years as a writer and producer of over 50 film projects. I understand how scripts work under pressure, in the real world.
Will you change my script?
I honor your tone, your message and your artistic identity.
Is it you who reads?
I read every word of every script that is sent to me. No team. No staff. No interns. NO AI.
After our consult - Can I resend the new draft?
Every rewrite is a new story. To give your next draft the same deep dive as the first, each session requires a new booking.
Is my script safe with you?
Your intellectual property is your lifeblood. All submissions are kept strictly confidential and remain 100% your property.
How soon can we meet?
Once I receive your script, I dive in immediately. Typical turnaround for a session is 2-5 days.
Can you help me if I’m new to screenwriting?
Absolutely. I work with writers at every stage. From brand-new to seasoned pros. I meet every writer where they are.
