Script
Salon
A free monthly gathering built around the work on the page.
Script Salon takes place at Ludlow House in NYC at the beginning of every month. It brings screenwriters and actors together for live readings, practical craft conversations, and thoughtful feedback. Each month focuses on a new topic designed to help writers strengthen their scripts while protecting what makes their voice their own.
There is no charge to attend. If you are not a Soho House member, you must sign up through Craig to be admitted.
September Script Salon
Dialogue: What the "F" Are You Saying?
Great dialogue is never just people talking.
In this Script Salon, we'll look at what your characters are really saying when they speak, what they're hiding, and how dialogue can reveal character, sharpen conflict, and keep a scene moving.
We'll break down rhythm, subtext, interruption, specificity, exposition, and the difference between dialogue that sounds clever and dialogue that actually belongs to the person saying it.
Whether you're polishing a draft or trying to get your characters to stop sounding like the same person, you'll leave with practical tools for making every line earn its place.
Bring your questions, writers, and if you're brave, bring a scene with dialogue.
If you are not a Soho House member, you must be on the guest list to enter. No plus-ones without prior approval.

Do you give written notes?
Written notes are boring and lay flat. Your script deserves the personal attention of a one on one conversation.
What will I leave with after our session?
Clear, actionable notes that will inspire you to complete your next draft.
How do you know how to fix my script?
25 years as a writer and producer of over 50 film projects. I understand how scripts work under pressure, in the real world.
Will you change my script?
I honor your tone, your message and your artistic identity.
Is it you who reads?
I read every word of every script that is sent to me. No team. No staff. No interns. NO AI.
After our consult - Can I resend the new draft?
Every rewrite is a new story. To give your next draft the same deep dive as the first, each session requires a new booking.
Is my script safe with you?
Your intellectual property is your lifeblood. All submissions are kept strictly confidential and remain 100% your property.
How soon can we meet?
Once I receive your script, I dive in immediately. Typical turnaround for a session is 2-5 days.
Can you help me if I’m new to screenwriting?
Absolutely. I work with writers at every stage. From brand-new to seasoned pros. I meet every writer where they are.
